FAQs

Q: How can I pay for my diving?
A: We only take cash, US Dollars, Sterling, Swiss Francs and Kenya Shillings.
We don't accept any credit card payments.
If you need to withdraw Kenya Shilling from the ATM, we are glad to take you to the nearest bank.
Remember to come with enough US$ for the marine park fee. US notes older than the year 2009 are NOT accepted here in Kenya.
Q: How can we best contact you while in Kenya?
A:
The most effective means of reaching us is either by phone or via WhatsApp.
Text messaging (SMS) is not highly reliable, and there can be significant delays, even if you receive a delivery report promptly.
This serves as our direct line for contacting Juma at the diving center.: +254 722 412302
If you prefer WhatsApp, please use this number to contact Stephen:+254 729 887170
Q: Are you operating all year around?
A:
Yes, our diving centre is open every day from 09.00am till 04.00pm 7 days a week. Main season is from October till May, low season begins in June till September. The big rains are expected in April, the short rains in October.
Q: Do you organize transport?
A: Yes, we can organize transport for you. From the airport to Bamburi  Beach Hotel rates are at $30 per taxi (max. 4 pax) one way.
For the divers we do offer free transport within 5km from our diving base.
For more distant locations, we can arrange transportation at applicable rates. Kindly email us for pricing details.
Q: Which diving suit do I need?
A:
We recommend at least 3mm long, better 5mm long
Q: Is there a marine park fee?
A:
Yes, there is. For scuba diving and snorkeling within Mombasa, a marine park fee of US$ 20 is charged during the high season while low season rates stand at $15 per person.
For children between 3 and 16 years the fee is at $ 15 payable to Kenya Wildlife Service.

Please remember that all $5, $10, $20, $50 and $100 bills older than the year 2009 are NOT accepted according to Central Bank of Kenya regulation.
$1 and $2 are NOT accepted at all by any government organisation.
Q: When do I need a refresher in the pool before the diving?
A:
You need a refresher
- if you have less than 15 logged dives
- if you have not been diving for more than 1 year
- if you don't have your diving certificate and/or your divers log book with you.
The cost of the pool refresher is $50; however, it will be completely reimbursed when applied to your diving expenses with us.
Q: How many dives are you doing in one trip?
A:
We always do 2 dives on one trip whether inside or outside reef. This saves you some money since the marine park fee is per trip and not per dive.
Q: Is shore diving possible?
A:
No, we only have boat diving.
There is no house reef.
Q: Do you have INT or DIN tank valves?
A: We have DIN valves and INT adapters so no need to carry any adapter.
Q: What can I see while diving in Mombasa?
A:
There is plenty of marine life in our waters. We have almost the whole ranch of the Indian Ocean. To name only but a few: Turtle, Sting Ray, Grouper, Moray eel, Scorpion Fish, Lion Fish, Shark, Napoleaon and many more.
